May 25 - Georgia on Our Mind
In the wine world, there's many different ways and speeds to ferment grape juice. This week, Anna Addison, owner of Georgian winery Nine Oaks Estate will be pouring "slow wine"—made carefully with extended grape and skin-contact and fermented underground for a year in clay vessels called qvevri. The result of snail-speed fermentation? Deeply earthy, golden amber colored wines and deep, unctuous reds. Come by & try these singular styles.

may 11 - back to mother earth
wine can get very confusing, but at the end of the day, it is a product of farming. at duck and the peach we love all that the earth gives to us, and we want to celebrate that! this week, we are pouring wines from three women winemakers who love to highlight where their grapes grow and just how incredible a wine they can make. from the warm valleys of california with wines from Carol Shelton and Martha Stoumen, to the chilly lakes of new york where we shine a light on Nancy Irelan, there is incredible wine to taste all over this country.

may 4 - cool moms drink skin contact
mother's day is on sunday (did you forget?) but we think the celebrations should start a little earlier. this week we're pouring skin contact, which are white wine grapes processed the way red wine grapes are - with the grape skins in contact with the grape juice. it makes for a bigger bodied, more complex wine compared to its white wine counterpart. it's what all the cool natty wine kids are drinking, and all the cool moms (...or their offspring).

april 27 - riesling three ways!
no one likes to be put in a box, and riesling is no exception. the grape, known most famously in germany and upstate new york, is a chameleon of sorts, and one of few white grapes that seriously excels in any form - even aged! this week we are tasting three rieslings that will have you rethinking how this grape can fit into your life. sparkling, skin-contact, and sweet, don't be afraid to try something a little different this week.

april 13 - rosé all day!
rosé all day! while the cherry blossoms may have already made their appearance, dc weather was not totally ready to let go of winter - until now! with the weather (truly, hopefully, for real this time) finally breaking, it is time to bust out the rosé and sip tasty wines all day long. this week we are featuring rosés from three of our favorite places: california, italy, and spain! start off with some bubbly bertolani rosé lambrusco from italy, followed by the light and delicious poe rosé from california, finishing with the punchy izadi larossa from rioja, spain. the best way to get over the mid-week hump.
